Training on the EU in Santiago, Chile

From 3 to 7 September 2018, the College of Europe Development Office contributed to the implementation of several courses to enhance the understanding of the European Union in Chile.

The first course took place at the Diplomatic Academy of Chile – Academia Diplomática “Andrés Bello”: during this week-long course, young Chilean diplomats had the opportunity to look into the EU decision-making process, EU trade policy, EU foreign policy and then experienced the role of negotiators in the Council of the European Union during an EU negotiation simulation game.

In addition, the College of Europe Development Office mobilised trainers for a tailor-made course for the EU Delegation as well as an Executive Training event for officials and diplomats.

These activities were delivered in Spanish by senior trainers of the College of Europe. They took place in the framework of the EU-funded project “EU Public Diplomacy in Latin America”, managed and implemented by the Organisation of Ibero-American States. The College of Europe Development Office has been involved in this project since 2017 and will be delivering other training programmes in 2019.
