The winners of the DG NEAR Writing Competition enjoyed a study visit to Brussels

On 6-8 May 2015, 26 young Europeans between 18 and 25 years old visited Brussels in the framework of a study visit organized by the College of Europe in collaboration with ICF Mostra. The young Europeans were the winners of the DG NEAR Writing Competition, launched in December 2014, ‘So similar, so different, so European’ and came from almost all the Member States.

Being extremely participative and dynamic, the group had the opportunity, on the first day, to visit the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, where they met the Member of the European Parliament Mr David McALLISTER. On the second day, they visited the European Commission – DG NEAR, attended the Midday Press Briefing and debated about youth and Europe with the European Commission Chief Spokesperson. Moreover, on the second day, they had the opportunity to discuss EU Enlargement with Ms Corina STRATULAT, Policy Analyst at the European Policy Centre and subsequently attended the Award Ceremony with Mr Christian DANIELSSON, Director General for Enlargement at the European Commission.
