Workshop on Europe–China Relations in Chengdu

From 19 to 21 March 2015, Professor Jing MEN, Chairholder of the InBev–Baillet Latour Chair of European Union–China Relations and Director of the EU–China Research Centre, and Ms Annika LINCK, Research Assistant at the InBev-Baillet Latour Chair, participated in the workshop “Europe-China Relations in Global Politics” focusing on “Cities as Actors in EU-Asia Cooperation” at Sichuan University in Chengdu. The event was sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and was jointly organized by the EU–Asia Institute of ESSCA, the Graduate School of Global Politics at the Free University Berlin and Sichuan University in Chengdu. The workshop took place in the framework of the UACES Collaborative Research Network on EU–China Relations. Professor MEN presented some reflections on the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative of the Chinese government. Ms Annika LINCK presented a paper about the role of cities in China’s New Silk Road initiative.
