On Monday, 22 May 2023, Rector Mogherini visited the Copenhagen area, where she engaged in a lively discussion on EU Foreign Policy with students and faculty in International Politics & Governance and in Social Science at Roskilde University.
That evening, Rector Mogherini was invited by The Danish Foreign Policy Society to give a keynote address on The EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy at a critical juncture: looking back and looking ahead. Following the lecture, Director of The Danish Foreign Policy Society, Charlotte Flindt Pedersen.moderated a Q&A session with the live and online audience.
"Ms Mogherini gave a sharp analysis of the current situation regarding defense and security, mainly in the EU, as well as past events leading up to where we are now. The lecture given by Ms Mogherini provided a nuanced view on subjects such as the war in Ukraine, new members joining the EU, and the position and consequences in regard to these matters."
On Tuesday, 23 May2023, Rector Mogherini attended meetings with State Secretary Jeppe Tranholm Mikkelsen; Jean Ellermann-Kingombe, State Councillor in Charge of International Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office; and Lykke Friis at Think Tank Europe, inter alia.
Rector Mogherini concluded her visit to Denmark with an event hosted by European Youth Copenhagen at the University of Copenhagen.
