On Friday, 6 October, Rector Federica MOGHERINI signed in Tirana a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mayor of Tirana, Erion VELIAJ, and the Albanian Minister of Education, Ogerta MANASTIRLIU, marking the establishment of the College of Europe Campus in the city. The Rector thanked the Mayor, the Minister, the EU Delegation in Albania and the EU Commission DG NEAR for their steady and continuous support for this project.
The MoU paves the way for the opening of the campus, which is not only a significant development for higher education opportunities in the country and the region but also a crucial step toward Albania's EU integration. Oliver VARHELYI, EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, was also in Tirana and noted that the opening of the College of Europe campus in Albania clearly signifies that EU membership is on the horizon for the country.
