The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the College of Europe were pleased to virtually organize, from 12 to 16 October 2020, the 21st Bruges Colloquium, which this year focused on "New Technologies of the Battlefield: Friend or Foe".
Opened by Ms Federica MOGHERINI, Rector of the College of Europe, the event gathered leading academics, practitioners and international experts who examined the new technologies on the battlefield, and held discussions on Cyber Warfare, Autonomous Weapons, Artificial Intelligence and Outer Space and the implications for Humanitarian Action.
This first virtual edition of the Colloquium had simultaneous translation in English, French and Russian and gathered over 430 participants.
