Dr Giovanna DI MAURO participated in a roundtable organized by the British International Studies Association

On 21 June 2021, Dr Giovanna DI MAURO participated in the roundtable The Art of Forgetting IR: Aesthetics, Creative Methods and the Politics of War and Peace, organized by the British International Studies Association.

Dr DI MAURO presented her past and current research on political engagement through the arts, focusing on how different artforms can inspire visions for peace and alternative ways of political expression. Dr DI MAURO engaged in a discussion on how the arts and creative methods can equip the discipline of International Studies to respond to spectacles of conflict and failed promises of peace.  

The roundtable’s participants were Dr Birgit POOPUU (Tallinn University), Dr Laura MILLS (University of St Andrews), Dr Lydia COLE (University of Durham), Dr Sarah JANKOWITZ (Queen's University Belfast), Dr Maria Adriana DEIANA (Queen’s University Belfast).
