Third Plenary Session of the European Health Parliament (06/02)

On Wednesday the 6th of February, the ten students of the College of Europe involved in the European Health Parliament had the chance to attend an insightful plenary session at the Microsoft Conference Centre in Brussels.

Professor Michele CHANG opened the day with an inspiring speech. The morning was dedicated to debate and panel discussions with the five different committees in which the students are split into (Data for Healthy Society; Disease Prevention & Management; Innovation & Value; Health Literacy & Self-care; Environmental & Human Health).

The participants had the opportunity to hear from a diverse group of stakeholders involved in health issues, including representatives of NGOs and EU institutions like MEP José Inácio FARIA, MEP Karen KADENBACH, and Sylvain GIRAUD, Head of Unit in the DG Health and Food Safety.

 

During the afternoon, Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS, the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, delivered a speech on the role of European Youth in the EU policy-making to the participants of the fourth edition in the European Parliament.

The participants used these interventions to develop further their policy proposals, which will be presented in April.
