Training course on the EU for young Peruvian diplomats

The College of Europe Development Office designed and organized a Diplomatic Training course on the Functioning of the EU and its relations with Peru for the Diplomatic Academy Javier Pérez de Cuéllar. A group of 31 students of the Academy attended this course from 6 to 9 October 2020.

This is the fourth edition of this course which covered a range of matters and policy areas such as the EU institutional design, priorities of the von der Leyen Commission, relations between the EU and Latin America and the European Green Deal. The last module focused on negotiation skills with a real-life simulation game of EU negotiations which allowed participants to experience the functioning of the EU.

Due to the current circumstances the Development Office delivered the training in an online format.

This activity took place in the framework of the EU-funded project “EU Policy and Outreach Partnership in South America”. The College of Europe is a partner of the Consortium implementing the project under the leadership of the Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos.
