COUNET Anne-Françoise - Français II / French II (55h)
The aim of this French course for students with an entry level of B1(+) is to reach a B2 level as described by the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): the student can understand the main points of standard speech and complex texts, including more technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation; can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity with native speakers; and write connected texts on a wide range of subjects.
The course will take students through the tense system and use, noun features (gender and plural), pronouns, the basic syntactic patterns in spoken and written language, the specific particles of academic and argumentative discourse and some of the terminology required for other courses that are part of the curriculum. Most of the time will be devoted to practical exercises (spoken and written) from the field of European studies and broader geopolitical issues.
