LORENZANI Dimitri - Foresight, Industrial Strategy, and Digital Policies: a New Consistent Trio in the EU (25h)
Professor: Dimitri LORENZANI
Assistant: Marco NICOLICH
Europe is undergoing profound transformations, with the urgent need to accelerate innovation and secure new drivers of growth. Its position in advanced digital technologies is slipping compared to other global blocs, with only a handful of leading tech firms being European. The rise of artificial intelligence offers a narrow window to regain competitiveness, restore manufacturing strength, and reduce strategic dependencies. To seize this chance, Europe requires a forward-looking industrial strategy rooted in digitalisation and advanced technologies, guided by strategic foresight to anticipate long-term trends and ensure policy coherence across digital, green, and social transitions. The course highlights how industrial strategy, foresight, and digital policy together form a consistent trio for shaping Europe’s future competitiveness and autonomy.
