Providing an intermediate understanding of macroeconomics, with a focus on the institutions and rules underpinning the European Union and the Euro Area, and on the role of financial markets. Examining monetary and fiscal issues and their interaction. Assessing the origins and nature of macroeconomic and financial sector imbalances and shocks in the EU/Euro Area, and the related policy stabilisation tools. Critically analysing and discussing key aspects of European economic and financial integration.
