SAURUGGER Sabine & TERPAN Fabien - The Court of Justice of the European Union as a Policy Actor (25h)
Professor Sabine SAURUGGER and Fabien TERPAN
Academic assistant: Maël LEROUX
The purpose of the course is to explore the role of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) as a central actor in the politics, policies, and polity of the European Union. By combining conceptual perspectives with practical insights, the course examines how the Court has shaped European integration, its interactions with other EU and national actors, and its influence on policymaking. Students will gain an understanding of the Court not only as a legal institution but also as a political power and actor within the EU system, while critically assessing its role in times of polycrises and the broader dynamics of European governance.
