HOLZNER M. – Use of Quantitative Methods in EU Studies (8h)

This workshop aims to provide a focused introduction to quantitative methods used in European Union (EU) studies, with an emphasis on linear regression by ordinary least squares (OLS), a key tool in empirical research. Participants will learn how to apply and critically evaluate quantitative analyses of crosssectional data within the context of EU integration and policy studies, particularly in relation to the economies of Southeastern Europe. By the end of the workshop, attendees should be able to conduct basic quantitative analysis relevant to EU studies and related fields.

Designed for both economics and non-economics students, the workshop is particularly suitable for those in political science, European studies, and international relations who are interested in incorporating quantitative methods into their research. Basic knowledge of economics, statistics, and computer skills is required.
