ELEZI G. - EU Enlargement Policy (20h)
This course provides students with essential knowledge of the EU Enlargement Policy, its institutional framework, impact, and the dynamics and challenges in its implementation, especially in the Western Balkans. It equips them with the necessary information and instruments to:
- Understand the main concepts and theoretical approaches regarding EU Enlargement Policy, including a thorough analysis EU conditionality.
- Describe the specific procedures and institutional stages of the EU accession process, including actors involved, criteria, and patterns.
- Understand and engage in discussions regarding challenges of EU Enlargement Policy, with specific reference to enlargement fatigue, absorption capacity, public opinion, etc.
- Understand and critically assess the EU accession process of the Western Balkans, its institutional framework, challenges and obstacles.
- Recognize and discuss the state of art of EU Enlargement, its recent developments and main debates regarding its future.
