LARIK J. - EU Constitutional Law and Decision-Making Processes (20h)
This course provides students with foundational knowledge of EU constitutional law. It allows them to:
- Understand the main constitutional setup of the EU, with an emphasis on its institutions, decision-making processes, and legal remedies
- Describe the specific features of EU law, its distinctiveness from international law and its (sometimes contested) relationship with national constitutional law
- Understand the main legal processes and instruments across its different policy fields such as EU external action, neighbourhood and enlargement policy, including different degrees of association with the EU
- Recognize and assess the legal dimension of political, economic and social issues of European transformation and integration that are addressed in the other courses of the program and the master thesis.
- Apply the main norms and principles of EU law to specific situations, such as case problems and in negotiations.
