Available now — Newsletter Issue 1 of the College of Europe Development Office!

The College of Europe Development Office is glad to present to you the first newsletter issue of 2020

2019 was a very fruitful year, as our facts and figures confirm. In total we implemented 571 training days as part of 190 different courses. Our courses and events were attended by a total of over 4,010 participants and we worked on 43 international projects or contracts.

Ms Claire LAWRENCE & Mr Cesare ZEGRETTI, Deputy Directors of the College of Europe’s Development Office stated that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Development team is working remotely as much as possible, and all the face-to-face activities taking place in March, April and May were revised so that they could be postponed, transferred to online solutions or cancelled if needed. To continue fulfilling its mission, the Development Office remains active and fully committed to delivering continuous and high-quality training services. Looking forward, we proudly announce that Prof. Dr. Hans GEEROMS will be among our guest speakers at the 'EU Economic Governance' course taking place from 12 to 14 October 2020. With a PhD in Economics from the KU Leuven, and specialized in international economics and European economic integration, Mr GEEROMS reflected in this interview held in mid-March on the importance of the Banking Union and the development of the Capital Markets Union for the Euro.

A selection of news items will provide you with the latest updated information about our projects and courses, from our preparation to the Slovenian Presidency to diplomatic and executive courses in South America, and further activities implemented within the framework of the EU projects ‘El-Hiwar — Training and Information Course on Euro-Arab Relations’ and ‘ERMES III -  European Resources for Mediation Support’.

Last but not least, we are happy to make available our 2020 Executive Training catalogue. Skill-related courses on EU Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Negotiations in Practice and EU Diplomacy & Diplomatic Skills, together with more comprehensive ones such as the Intensive Seminar on the EU, or policy-oriented ones such as EU Energy Policy, EU Transport & Railway Affairs and EU Economic Governance shape an offer that has been bringing professionals to the College since 1992.

We wish you a pleasant reading!
